Triune Mercy Center

Triune Mercy Center, located in Greenville, South Carolina, is a non-denominational mission church dedicated to serving those experiencing homelessness and those with low-income. Since its establishment in 1989, Triune has played a pivotal role in addressing both the immediate needs and long-term challenges faced by marginalized individuals in the community.  

Comprehensive Support Services

Triune offers a wide array of services aimed at fostering stability and self-sufficiency among its clients:

• Basic Needs Assistance: The center provides hot meals three times a week and one to-go meal. We also provide grocery assistance and hygiene kits. These services are crucial for individuals lacking access to daily necessities .

• Healthcare Access: Through partnerships with organizations like Bon Secours St. Francis and Greenville Mental Health, Triune facilitates medical and mental health services, addressing the significant health disparities within the homeless population . 

• Substance Use and Recovery Programs: Recognizing the prevalence of addiction issues, Triune partners such as the Greenville Fire Department and the Phoenix Center, just to name a few, to connect individuals with recovery programs and offer support for sustained sobriety. 

• Legal and Reentry Support: The center assists formerly incarcerated individuals with legal aid and reintegration services, aiming to reduce recidivism and promote community reintegration. 

Innovative Initiatives

Triune’s commitment to holistic care is evident in its innovative programs:

• Jasmine Road Partnership: In collaboration with Christ Church Episcopal, Triune helped to found and housed for seven years Jasmine Road, a two-year residential program for women exiting the sex trade, providing them with a path to recovery and independence . 

• Art and Music Therapy: Partnering with Premier Arts Collective, Triune offers art and music therapy workshops to help individuals process trauma and foster healing through creative expression. 

• Legal Aid with Time Served: Time Served, housed at Triune, is a wonderful organization whose mission is to improve the lives of currently and formerly incarcerated South Carolinians through direct legal services and litigation, and to dismantle extreme sentencing in South Carolina, with a particular focus on vulnerable populations whose criminal system involvement was rooted in part in other traumas and injustices they have experienced. • Inclusive Worship Services: Weekly services are open to all, creating a space where the homeless and the affluent worship side by side, promoting unity and understanding .

What's New?

Triune is partnering with Greenville Together as the Housing Surge Lead Provider in order to get 80 people housed by the end of 2025. Greenville Together: A Home for All is a united effort bringing together community leaders, organizations, and residents to create lasting solutions. Our mission is clear and focused:

• Provide Immediate Support – Ensuring people experiencing homelessness today have access to critical resources, shelter, and housing solutions.
• Build Long-Term Prevention – Strengthening systems to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring.
